Supporting student mental health and wellbeing

At the University of Brighton, we’re dedicated to ensuring every student thrives. In our post-pandemic world, the demand for our university and NHS mental health and wellbeing services is higher than ever.

That’s why we’ve established the Wellbeing Champions program, made possible by our generous community support. This initiative is designed to enhance students’ self-efficacy in managing their own wellbeing while equipping them to support others.

Through the programme, students gain access to an online platform offering a wealth of resources for enhancing personal mental wellbeing. Additionally, we provide crucial training to course representatives and Students' Union Committee members, focusing on listening skills and suicide awareness.

By donating to our Wellbeing Champions program this Giving Day, you’ll empower more students with the awareness, knowledge and experience needed to navigate their mental health challenges and support their friends and family. To hear more about how this programs impacts our students please watch the short film above.

Your contribution can make a tangible difference, a gift of:

  • £9 supports a student to receive a distraction kit to prevent self-harm
  • £28 sponsors a student ambassador to undergo suicide awareness training
  • £850 funds a safe talk training session for 30 student ambassadors

Today your donation has the power to profoundly change someone’s life.

Thank you!
